## Migration to Proxmox - ### KIND REMINDER: ISCP - RTO - RPO ###

Dear Colleagues,
 
After several months have passed, this is a kind reminder that, as advised multiple times during the migration to Proxmox, once your applications were completed, you should:

* **Review the ISCP of your application, and**
* **Reassess your RTO and RPO in the context of the new environment.**

For applications that have lost SRM capabilities, please find below the new DR options:
 
**DISASTER RECOVERY OPTIONS:**

**COLD DR**:

1. Backup Replication to Secondary Site

* RTO: 48 hours or more
* Scheduled backup data is replicated to a secondary site. Best suited for workloads where extended recovery windows are acceptable and cost efficiency is a priority.

2. Block-Level Storage Replication via Dell PowerStore

* RTO: 24 hours
* Previously, VMware SRM provided your DR capability. With Proxmox, Dell PowerStore replication delivers equivalent block-level protection — and serves as the foundation for even more advanced options below.

**HOT DR Option**:

3. Active / Passive Configuration

* RTO: Less than 12 hours

* A standby environment is kept ready to take over with minimal downtime. This option provides the strongest recovery posture and is recommended for workloads where availability is business critical.
* Applicable only if your application uses file sharing (NFS/SMB).
* NFS/SMB File Data Replication via PowerScale SyncIQ.

Please NOTE that the DR can be a combination of the available options.
 
**ACTION REQUIRED – ISCP REVIEW**

We ask that you review and update your ISCP to:
 
1\. Re\-assess your RTO and RPO and confirm which recovery tier best aligns with your current business requirements\.
2\. Update recovery documentation\, ensure all recovery steps reflect the new Proxmox\-based replication and restoration procedures\.
3\. Participate in a tabletop exercise\, validate the updated plan end\-to\-end to ensure readiness\.
 
**Support & Resources:**

* DCAU will provide guidance and support throughout the ISCP review process.
* PSU will offer technical assistance on Proxmox technology and replication tooling.

Please coordinate directly with DCAU and PSU to confirm your preferred DR option and to schedule your ISCP review at your earliest convenience.
 
For those application who did not have SRM, we still require that you review your ISCP and check the RTO and RPO.
